Kepler is run by Founders

Kepler Ventures is a small personal fund that makes angel investments in technology companies. It is run by Tyler Willis and Noah Horton, who are the co-founders of Unsupervised, one of the top AI companies in the world.

Since 2012, we have invested in over 45 technology companies including Patreon, Lambda School, Lyft, and Classpass. So far, our investments have gone on to raise significant additional investment from Google Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Index Ventures, Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia and Founders Fund, among others.

We believe that the world’s most important technology companies are started by great founders with either a deep technical insight (something we all know is valuable, but seems impossible to do) or a novel sociological insight (something that many people have a latent, but currently unknown desire for). We have invested in several early-stage technology companies in both categories.

Tyler Willis

I’ve been an entrepreneur, marketer and investor for a long time now. In 2007, Noah and his co-founder at Involver convinced me to drop out of college and run marketing for their startup. I’m not sure who lets a 19 year old run marketing, but thankfully it worked out for all of us. We grew to two million customers before Oracle acquired us to create Oracle Marketing Cloud.

When Oracle acquired Involver, I begun angel investing, and have enjoyed working with some incredibly talented founders — folks like Talia Frenkel at L., Austen Allred at Lambda, Tom McLeod at Omni, and Jack Conte at Patreon.

When I’m lucky enough to work with one of these teams, my experience with marketing helps deep technology companies explain themselves and novel consumer companies cope with hyper-growth. I also help, where possible, with recruiting, sales, partnerships, M&A, and future financing.

I don’t want to glamorize it… I just pick up the phone when you call and do whatever I can to help. Entrepreneurs do 99.999% of the work, but anyone who considers themselves a good investor should still fight alongside you when you ask them to.
